Posted by DeathRay2K on September 12th, 2007
EA released the original Command & Conquer free to download to commemorate C&C's 12th anniversary, but if you downloaded it you may have noticed that there was whole section of instructions on how to actually make it work in Windows XP! To save you the trouble, and fix a major bug, ASM coder VK has released an unofficial patch to the game. He calls it 1.05, and it makes C&C compatible with Windows XP, as well as fixing a major bug.
Here is VK's changelog for 1.05: *Command & Conquer now Windows XP compatible! *You no longer need to set "Windows 95 compatible mode" *Included updated THIPX32.DLL file, which fix LAN games support. *Map border crash no longer happen.
Visit VK's website to download the C&C 1.05 patch
Note that only C&C Gold 1.04 and the TFD version of C&C can be updated to 1.05.

Tiberian Dawn featured in PC GAMER's "Long Play" Section
Posted by Creagor on November 24th, 2006
PCG Issue 169 - Christmas 2006 Tiberian Dawn has been featured in PC GAMER's "Long Play" Section, where a member of the PCG team recalls a game from the olden days (a few years ago), and tells us why it's still a great game.
Well, most of you with a subscription to/who have bought PC GAMER may well have seen article this allready, but I figured I'd post this up anyway, for those who dont get the magazine. Though it isnt exactly "breaking news", I doubt the TD news section will be getting much in the way of news anyway, so here it is. The two attached Images are scans of the Article. They are VERY large, as my scanner has two settings: So small the text is impossible to read, and Huge. Sorry 56K'ers, is you want to see youre in for a long wait...
TD is also this month's "Classic demo", and the demo is on the DVD that comes with the magazine.
Note the comments about TS and RA, and Generals. They have different views to most of us...
